Built from what your client records in Bricken as they work: wages paid to their crew, subcontractor bills, receipts and stage payments. Download them whenever you need them, without asking.
CIS by subcontractor, by tax month
Every subcontractor paid between the 6th and the 5th, including any paid gross. Each one has gross, materials, labour, the rate, the deduction and the net paid, with their UTR and verification number. If your client hasn’t recorded those, the cells are left blank and marked, never guessed. As a CSV and a clean PDF.
VAT, with the reverse charge flagged
Every sale and purchase in the period, dated by the client’s scheme (cash, standard or flat rate), with the VAT return boxes each one goes in. Invoices and subcontractor bills under the domestic reverse charge are marked. A CIS subcontractor’s bill with no VAT on it is flagged for you to check, rather than assumed.
Xero-ready sales and bills
Sales invoices and bills in Xero’s own UK import templates, with Xero’s Domestic Reverse Charge tax rates where they apply. Labour is one bill per worker, with the CIS noted.

One free login, all your builder clients
Your client invites you from their settings with your email address. You sign in with a code we email you, with no password, and every client who has invited you is there in one list.

You can see and download. You can’t change anything in your client’s account.

Accountants never pay for a login. The exports come with your client’s Builder or Contractor plan, and during the 7-day free trial.

Questions
Do I need my client to be on Bricken first?
For the exports, yes: your client invites you from Settings → Your accountant. For the £100, no: get your code first and share it with builders who aren’t on Bricken yet.
Where do the CIS figures come from?
From what your client records: wages paid to their crew (dated when paid), labour they type in, and subcontractor bills with CIS taken off. UTRs and verification numbers come from your client’s records. Check the figures against the bank before you file, as you would with any records.
Does it file the CIS or VAT return?
No. Bricken prepares the figures and files for you. You file them as you do now.
Which accounts software does it work with?
The Xero files use Xero’s own import templates. The CSVs and the Excel pack open in anything.
When is the £100 paid?
Once the builder who joined with your code has paid for two months. The 7-day free trial doesn’t count; the two months start when the builder’s paid plan does. We pay by bank transfer.
What does it cost my client?
Site is £19, Builder £39 and Contractor £79 a month (£190, £390 or £790 for a year), with no VAT to add. The CIS, VAT and accountant exports come with Builder and Contractor. Every new client starts with a 7-day free trial, no card needed. See pricing.
